Wasim Jaffer selects his team for the 2024 T20 World Cup

Using X, Wasim Jaffer announced the Indian team for the 2024 T20 World Cup. The former PBKS coach shared his thoughts about the team that many experts are disclosing for the important ICC tournament. It’s anticipated that the Indian team for the important T20 competition will be revealed soon. Most likely, the choices will be made in light of the players’ recent and current IPL results.

It’s a solid starting squad. The team features some accomplished players at the top of the order, including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The team’s captain will be Rohit. With his background and track record, Virat will be important in the T20 World Cup in 2024. Jaffer seems to believe in the young player despite Jaiswal’s disappointing IPL season, considering his track record in international cricket. He is most likely the team’s backup opener.

Jaffer’s group now includes Suryakumar Yadav as well. The star player is among the world’s most aggressive batters. Wasim selected two right-handed hitters for the team. Jaffer’s lineup includes Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant, both of whom are playing fantastically in the IPL 2024. Apart from one of the two wicketkeepers who will probably be utilized as a backup, the majority of these players will probably start in the starting XI.

My India squad for T20 WC:

1. Rohit (C)
2. Jaiswal
3. Kohli
4. SKY
5. Pant (WK)
6. Samson (WK)
7. Hardik
8. Dube
9. Rinku
10. Jadeja
11. Kuldeep
12. Chahal
13. Bumrah
14. Siraj
15. Arshdeep

The team includes seasoned bowlers and excellent all-arounders.

Jaffer’s team features two excellent all-round players, Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya. Regarding Hardik, there are concerns about his recent form and fitness. He’s most likely being chosen because of his track record and reputation. Shivam has performed admirably as a batter in the current IPL. Though he hasn’t bowled for CSK, the impact player rule has prevented the southpaw from getting some bowling action. Both are probably going to be in India’s starting lineup.

The two chosen finishers for the team are Rinku Singh and Ravindra Jadeja. Over the past two years, Rinku has established himself as one of the world’s top finishers. In addition, the southpaw’s occasional bowling skills can be useful. Throughout the competition, Ravindra Jadeja will be an important player for India. As a true spin-bowling all-arounder, the seasoned bowler has joined Jaffer’s team. Concerns have been raised about his finishing skills.

The former Indian hitter has used two distinct types of leg spinners. He has Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in the team. Chahal has continued to have a strong season with the ball, but Kuldeep has emerged as the finest spinner in the IPL 2024 thanks to his ability to both take wickets and limit runs.

The veteran trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh makes up the Indian domestic legend’s speed bowling unit. Bumrah will spearhead the attack and probably bowl in the final powerplay and dying overs. The fact that Arshdeep and Siraj can bowl in powerplay overs is probably why they were selected. At the beginning and conclusion of the play, the pacers can have an impact, while the spinners can perform well in the middle overs.
