A devoted Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fan broke down in tears in front of team manager Gautam Gambhir in a heartwarming moment that went viral.
After a fruitful time with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the former captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) returned to the team this year as a consultant. He captained the team to two IPL titles. With 16 points after 11 games, KKR is presently leading the IPL 2024 points table. His return has coincided with the team’s incredible success.
Before departing after the 2017 season, Gautam Gambhir was a player with KKR from 2011 to 2014, when he guided the team to victory in each of those years. It was challenging to fill the vacuum that his departure caused for the franchise and its ardent supporters. After that, he performed a well-known Rabindranath Tagore song to illustrate how much the KKR supporters valued Gautam Gambhir. The fan said, “I want to express to you how important you are to us through a song: Tomaye Hridh Majharey Rakhbo Chere Debone (We will keep you in our hearts and never let go).” Overwhelmed by the devotion from the fans, Gautam Gambhir praised him for his ardent support of him and the Knight Riders.
There are three league games remaining for the Kolkata-based team, and winning one of them will guarantee a spot in the playoffs. On May 11, they will play the Mumbai Indians in their next game. This will be their last home game of the season, and the game will take place at Eden Gardens.
