Azam Khan’s moniker was coined by Captain Babar Azam, who is renowned for calling his colleagues by nicknames and maintaining a lighthearted environment. Pakistan is preparing for the opening match of the Twenty20 World Cup in 2024 in Dallas’ Grand Prairie Stadium. On June 6, they will play Match 11 against the hosts, the United States of America. The Men in Green enjoyed strenuous practice sessions prior to the game, and it appeared that the players were having fun.
In sports, the players’ camaraderie is indescribable and deeply personal; an outsider cannot truly understand it. Nevertheless, in an attempt to maintain good humour and emphasise the players’ fraternal bond that transcends social conventions of behaviour, Babar jokingly yelled, “Genda (Hippo),” after Azam Khan was unable to complete a practice routine.
This is the footage of Babar yanking Azam Khan’s leg:

Babar Azam maintaining his humour in the face of mounting rumours
The captain of Pakistan has spent a considerable amount of time with the squad. He has referred to his guys as aliases before. He had previously called Saim Ayub “Chota Don,” while the entire team refers to Iftikhar Ahmed as “Chacha.” Rumours surfaced that Babar and Shaheen Afridi were at odds, and the former talked about his bond with the bowler and the team.
First of all, these kinds of things always seem to originate from your [Media] side when they come to my attention. Thank God, it’s not like that at all. Perhaps you people are more informed than we are. For you and the fans, I’m here to explain. We have a very old bond; it is not a recent one. In whatever circumstance, we make an effort to stick together and encourage one another. Prior to the 2023 World Cup, Babar stated, “The team’s single goal is to serve Pakistan.

The goal of winning matches for Pakistan and promoting the country’s name is still the same whether I’m sitting here today or someone else is. Instead of concentrating on specific people, events taking place nearby, or potential future developments, we are concentrating on these things. Thank God, our squad does not have such negative views; instead, everything is quite good,” he continued.
