The men’s Test series schedule against England in October has been released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The Three Lions are travelling to Pakistan with the intention of reliving their incredible 3-0 rout from their previous visit in 2022.
The first Test between Pakistan and England will take place at Multan from October 7–11. After that, on October 15–19, the two sides will travel to Karachi for the second Test
The third Test match in the series, which takes place in Rawalpindi from October 24 to 28, will decide the outcome.
For the 2023–2025 cycle, the series is a part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25. With just three wins, six losses, and one draw from ten games, England is wallowing at the bottom of the standings and is in serious need of victories in this competition. Before starting their tour of Pakistan, they will play three home Test matches each against the West Indies and Sri Lanka, giving them an opportunity to raise their ranking.
ECB Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould stated, “We’re really excited to be returning to Pakistan for this three-match men’s Test tour in October.” “Our last men’s Test tour of Pakistan produced some memorable matches and I’m sure fans can look forward to more exciting cricket across this forthcoming series.”
With two victories and three losses in their last five games, Pakistan is positioned higher on the WTC points table. After Australia, New Zealand, India, and Sri Lanka, they are ranked fifth.
Pakistan’s next task is to play Bangladesh in a two-match Test series at home. The hosts will be betting on themselves to win this series with all three points because the Bangla Tigers are going through a transitional period.
Returning to the Test arena, England and Pakistan have faced off in 88 encounters between the two dominant cricket teams. Pakistan has won 21 games, while England has won 28. Thirty-nine matches have ended in draws.
