Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s glamorous sangeet ceremony in Mumbai on Friday night evolved into a celebration of India’s recent victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Following their victory, cricket players Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav were warmly welcomed to the star-studded celebration.
The pre-wedding celebrations for Anant, the son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, included the Sangeet ceremony, which was attended by Radhika Merchant. According to reports, the wedding will happen on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC, Mumbai. Bollywood, sports, and business celebrities were among the groups represented at the event.
The special welcome for the cricketing heroes was definitely the high point of the evening. To raucous cheers, Sharma, Pandya, and Yadav—important members of India’s T20 World Cup 2024 winning squad—were invited to the stage. The other attendees honoured them with a standing ovation, recognising their outstanding accomplishment in returning home with the coveted trophy.

On stage, Aakash, Nita, and Mukesh Ambani gave the players heartfelt hugs and congratulations. The Mumbai Indians of the Indian Premier League (IPL), owned by Aakash and Nita Ambani, are home to all three of the cricket players. Every player has contributed significantly to India’s World Cup triumph. In eight games, Yadav amassed 199 runs, including two half-centuries.
With 144 runs at a strike rate of over 150 and 11 vital wickets, including two game-changing dismissals in the final, Pandya demonstrated his all-around ability. He even rose to the top of the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings with his achievements.
Other cricket celebrities that attended the occasion included MS Dhoni, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya, and Shreyas Iyer. After spending a nice moment with Rohit Sharma, Bollywood star Varun Dhawan wrote on social media about the Indian captain’s dedication and humility.
