In preparation for the women’s T20 World Cup, South Africa will go on a brief Twenty20 International series in Pakistan, comprising three matches over the course of five days, from September 16 to 20. The venues for all of the games are Multan.
To get ready for the World Cup, South Africa will travel to Multan on September 13, according to a statement from CSA, and depart for the United Arab Emirates on September 21, the day following the last match against Pakistan.
Director of cricket for the CSA Enoch Nkwe stated, “This T20I series against Pakistan is a critical part of our preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.” “It offers the team the invaluable opportunity to gain match practice, allowing us to refine our strategies and ensure that our players are in peak form.”
In little more than a year, this will be South Africa’s second trip of Pakistan. Last September 1–14, the teams played three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). South Africa won the ODIs 2-1 while Pakistan won the T20Is handily.
“We are incredibly grateful to the PCB for their collaboration and efforts in arranging this series,” Nkwe stated. “As the Proteas Women visit Pakistan for the second time in a year, this series not only helps us get ready for the World Cup but also improves the connection between our two cricket boards. It’s evidence of our mutual dedication to developing the women’s game.
In addition, by participating in more international games, we give our athletes a stage on which to display their abilities and motivate the following generation of cricket players. We anticipate a tough series that will help both sides and raise the profile of women’s cricket internationally.”
