The World Test Championship (WTC) Final dates for the 2023–2025 cycle have been released by the International Cricket Council. The dates of the 2018 red-ball tournament were made public when the Indian Cricket Association opened ticket registration for the game, which would take place on June 11–15. The top sides will square off for the Test trophy, as predicted, at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the iconic location in the City of London.
The fate of the finalists will be determined by up to thirteen bilateral series, since most of the teams are competing to get to the finals. In terms of table standings, India, who finished second in both of the previous editions (2021 and 2023, respectively), is presently occupying the top spot with 68.52 points percentage (PCT). Following them are England (45.00 PCT), New Zealand (50.00 PCT), and Australia (62.50 PCT).
By the conclusion of Australia’s tour to Sri Lanka, the final assignment for the current cycle, both of the 2025 event finalists are anticipated to be confirmed.
While Australia and India continue to be the top seeds, they will probably face off in the final for the second time in a row. But both will participate in a five-match Test series, with the opening game taking place in Perth on November 22. This is a crucial series for both rivals since it will help them defend the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which the Indians presently hold, in addition to improving their positions at the table.
The English team will play three Test matches against the New Zealand team, who is ranked second among the strongest contenders. The English team’s goal is to surpass the Black Caps and secure a spot in the top two, which could lead to their first-ever home final.
