Rachin Ravindra, a talented all-rounder from New Zealand, is working hard to be ready for the next Test matches in the subcontinent. When he participated in his final Test match in India in 2021, he was still getting used to the squad. Nonetheless, Ravindra has emerged as one of the Black Caps’ finest performers over the past 12 months.
In the ODI World Cup 2023, he had a breakout performance, amassing 578 runs and taking home the ICC Emerging Player of the Year title. In addition, he just crushed his first Test century in Mount Maunganui against South Africa.
Six Test matches between New Zealand and the subcontinent are scheduled for the following months. With three matches coming up—two in Sri Lanka, three in India, and one against Afghanistan—Ravindra will undoubtedly be essential to his team’s success.
Ben Spears and Ravindra are practicing together at the Chennai Super Kings’ High-Performance Centre right now, and Ravindra spoke out about it as well.
“These guys from the subcontinent bat, they hold their shape longer in the lower positions they get into. It’s been a great few days here in Chennai, allowing us to acclimatise ourselves to the red and black soil pitches that we might face.” We are still attempting to apply that to our spin games as western cricket players,” Ravindra was said by The Hindu.

With the first Test starting on October 16 and the third Test starting on November 1, the matches will take place in Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai. Speaking about the impending series, Ravindra expressed confidence that New Zealand will present a challenge for team India.

“It is my belief that playing India in a three-match Test series will always be challenging. It demonstrates their strength as a unit, particularly at home in the red-ball style. It will be difficult, so we’ll try to apply the lessons from the previous series here. He stated, “Hopefully, we can give them a fight for their money. They are a world-class squad for a reason.
