Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars will play the first game of the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on April 11.
However, a fire broke out at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad, where a number of PSL teams and players were staying, shortly before the season began.
The top level of the five-star hotel is where the fire started, according to reports. After being sent to the location right away, eight fire department units managed to contain the situation in a timely manner. Thankfully, no damage was recorded. It has been determined that every player and team management member residing at the hotel is safe and secure.

The five-star hotel’s top floor was where the fire started. Eight fire department vehicles arrived on the scene to put out the fire, according to the district administration spokesperson, who was cited by Daily Ausaf.
The hotel’s emergency procedures were promptly triggered, and the trained emergency response crew, working with the local fire department, quickly put out the fire. Thankfully, no property was lost or damaged, and neither visitors nor employees needed to be evacuated. As a result, the authorities now claim that the property’s state has become normal.
The PSL 2025 season will go forward in spite of the unforeseen incident, with the highly anticipated opening game pitting two-time winners Qalandars against three-time champions Islamabad. Six competing teams are preparing to compete for the coveted crown, and fans are anticipating an exciting tournament.
