On May 29, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the IPL 2023 final will be played between the four-time winner Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Gujarat Titans (GT), which is led by Hardik Pandya. The final was supposed to be on Sunday, May 28, but rain made that impossible, so the game was moved to the next day. Aakash Chopra, a former Indian cricketer, spoke out before the rescheduled final to talk about the top match of the event. Both teams are getting ready to fight it out for the title.
Aakash Chopra brought up the big difference in Shubman Gill‘s numbers when Gujarat bats first versus when they are trying to catch up to the goal.
The former Indian hitter said that Gill is in great shape, but most of his runs have come when he’s been in the field first.
“Shubman Gill’s average is close to 100 if he hits first. Aakash Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel, “He has scored more than one century and half-centuries here, but most of these runs came when he was batting first.”
“When he comes to follow, he has only scored runs against this team once, in the first match. He has scored runs after that, but the average falls to 40. From his point of view, an average of 40 looks like less. The others did well, but there is a big difference,” he said.
Shubman Gill could be a key player in the final for the Gujarat Titans.
Before the final match against the Chennai Super Kings, Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans would be excited to protect their title against the four-time champions. Gujarat would depend a lot on the skills of Shubman Gill, who has been playing very well as of late.
Gill has scored three centuries in the IPL 2023. He is currently wearing the IPL orange cap, and his showing against the Chennai Super Kings could be very important for the defending champions.
