With the Champions Trophy 2025 drawing near, Varun Chakravarthy is predicted to be included in the 15-man roster. According to reports, he may be included in the team for India’s home series against England in order to get enough playing time before the major event. Chakravarthy may soon be included in the squad despite having never participated in an ODI.
A former Indian cricket player, Aakash Chopra, praised the spinner’s domestic and international ball-handling skills amid all the rumours about Chakravarthy’s involvement.
“Varun Chakaravarthy is taking wickets without stopping. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he too performed admirably. After taking five wickets against Rajasthan, he has been playing well ever since. Chopra stated in a video on his YouTube channel, “He has been taking wickets every time since he rejoined the Indian T20I team.”
He also speculated that Ravindra Jadeja would be left out in order to make room for the 33-year-old spinner.
“There are a lot of rumours going around that Varun Chakaravarthy would be selected for the Champions Trophy, and when some of them come to pass, the Indian cricket scene has turned like this. Who, if Ravindra Jadeja, will be selected to go out? He said, “I have been hearing that.
You’ll notice that Axar has replaced Ravindra Jadeja: Aakash Chopra
As the left-handed spin bowling all-rounder for India, Chopra also stated that Axar Patel might be selected before Jadeja.
Hopefully, I was unaware of that, but it appears that Varun Chakaravarthy may replace Ravindra Jadeja in the starting lineup. There is a high likelihood. Axar will therefore be seen in place of Jaddu,” Chopra said.
The ninth edition of the Champions Trophy will take place in 2025. Taking into consideration the subcontinental conditions, it is anticipated that India will pursue its most viable options.
