Abhishek Sharma, the rising star opener, gave gratitude to Yuvraj Singh and Suryakumar Yadav for their contributions during the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs. Punjab Kings (PBKS) post-match presentation. Their advice, he admitted, gave him the confidence to take a major knock.
In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), Sharma was having trouble with his form while playing for SRH. He did, however, congratulate Yuvraj and Suryakumar for supporting him after the Southpaw produced 141(55), the best individual score for a batter in the history of the league while chasing.
“Special mention to Yuvraj Paaji as well because I have been talking to him as well, and I won’t deny Mr Suryakumar Yadav as well, he’s been in touch, and he was there for me, he was talking to me, he knew that this is going to happen very soon so thanks to him as well,” Abhishek added.
Sharma treats Yuvraj as one of his idols and a mentor. Right from a young age, the Southpaw saw Yuvraj play and grew up to be someone who could win matches for his team. With Suryakumar, Sharma shares a special bond due to their connection to the Indian team. Under Suryakumar, Abhishek has grown in stature in the Indian team.

“It was an unforgettable day for us both,” Abhishek said of his and Travis Head’s performances.
With 14 fours and 10 sixes, Abhishek Sharma amassed an incredible 141 (55), smashing the PBKS bowlers for pleasure. It’s the third-highest score in league history and the highest ever for a hitter chasing a total.
In particular, Sharma appreciated captain Pat Cummins for his direct communication and for boosting everyone’s self-esteem. The star batter asserted that their conversation with Travis Head helped them both win the game.
Since the team’s atmosphere was essentially straightforward, a special recognition is out to the group and its captain, Pat Cummins. Again, it was a simple message for all the batters. Despite the fact that we weren’t playing well, I knew deep down that I needed to do something like this to resume the winning streak. I think I spoke with Travis about it, and it was a memorable day for both of us,” Sharma said.
