On Saturday, April 5, Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy, two players for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), travelled to Hyderabad, Telangana, to visit the Shri Peddamma Talli Devalayam temple. On Sunday, April 6, SRH will play Gujarat Titans (GT) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Before their upcoming encounter in Hyderabad, the two all-rounders were praying at the temple and receiving blessings from the goddess in an X video that went viral.
On April 3, Sunrisers played the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. They lost badly, falling by a significant 80-run deficit. In the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, this was their third defeat. The SRH batsmen were given a massive target of 200 runs by KKR, but they were bowled out for 120. Both Abhishek (2) and Nitish (19) were unable to score a significant goal or have an impact.

In the ongoing IPL season, both Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy are under immense pressure to deliver, having failed to make a significant impact with the bat.
Last season, the left-handed batter impressed with 484 runs in 16 innings. However, he has managed to score only 33 runs in the current edition.
On the other hand, Nitish Kumar Reddy has scored just 81 runs in four innings this season, despite amassing 303 runs in 11 innings last year. The dip in their form has affected the franchise’s ability to secure victories and climb the points table in IPL 2025.
Currently, SRH are at the bottom of the points table with two points in the four matches they have played and GT are at fourth in the points table with four points. SRH will be aiming to bounce back from their recent defeat.
