Wasim Akram, the legendary cricket player from Pakistan, has sparked conversations once more amid the chaos of changes occurring in the Indian Premier League (IPL). This time, his attention was drawn to Indian cricket player Rohit Sharma and his possible IPL career.

“I have a feeling he won’t be with the Mumbai Indians next season,” Akram revealed in an open interview with a news channel. I hope to watch him play at KKR. With him open there, Iyer leading the bat, and Gauti serving as a coach, they will have a potent batting combination on that wicket. He is a very good batsman who can score runs on any kind of pitch. Nevertheless, it will be nice to have him at KKR, India Today told Akram.
Given that Gautam Gambhir, the former captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, may be Akram’s mentor, his comments have drawn criticism. The league might change drastically if Rohit leaves MI, a team he helped win five IPL championships.
It is imperative to bear in mind, though, that Akram’s remarks are conjectural. There are still months until the IPL 2025 player auction, and neither MI nor KKR have revealed their plans. The story of Rohit Sharma’s decision to join KKR or stick with MI will eventually come to light.
