The Netherlands cricket squad is well prepared for their third encounter against South Africa in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, the match is slated to take place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala on Tuesday, October 17. The Dutch squad has already arrived at the location as cricket fever sweeps the state of Himachal Pradesh.
It’s interesting to note that after arriving, the Dutch players appeared to have assimilated into the colorful Himachali culture when touring the beautiful HPCA Dharamshala Stadium. The Dutch players could be seen dancing to Himachali traditional tunes in a video that the HPCA put online. Additionally, they were researching the regional cuisines the state has to offer its distinguished visitors.

The current ODI World Cup 2023 has seen the Netherlands lose two games already.
The team led by Scott Edwards has played two games so far in this prestigious competition, but sadly they have lost both games handily against Pakistan and New Zealand. They did, however, put on a strong showing during the qualifications conducted in Zimbabwe, which guaranteed their World Cup qualification.
The Netherlands have not been performing well in the current ODI World Cup 2023, especially when it comes to their batting. They have had trouble scoring enough runs to be competitive with their rivals.
They got off to a strong start in their opening game against Pakistan by grabbing three early wickets in the powerplay. But since their bowlers lacked focus, Pakistan was able to achieve a respectable total. They appeared to have a chance of winning the game even during the chase, but their middle-order hitters failed under duress, leading to a squandered opportunity.
They were soundly defeated by New Zealand in their most recent matchup. Going forward, their players, especially the batsmen, will need to step up their game and notably contribute with the bat to offer a respectable total for their bowlers if they want to make an impact against a quality team like South Africa in their third match.
