Ajay Jadeja heaped Gujarat Titans (GT) batting star Sai Sudharsan with plaudits after his game-winning century against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Sunday’s Indian Premier League 2025 encounter. With an undefeated 108 from 61 balls, including 12 fours and four sixes, Sudharsan helped the previous champions easily defeat a 200-run goal. With 10 wickets and an over remaining, the visitors easily won thanks to an outstanding 93* not out from 53 deliveries from GT captain Shubman Gill.
Ajay Jadeja said that in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Sudharsan has surpassed Shubman Gill, who might be India’s captain in the future.
The left-handed batter, who has 617 runs from 12 games at an average of 56.10 and a strike rate of 157, is presently the IPL Orange Cap holder. Shubman, meanwhile, is the season’s second-highest run scorer with 601 runs from 12 games, average 60.10 and hitting 155.70.
The former Indian batsman further mentioned that, in contrast to his opening partner, Sai Sudharsan has scored his runs without taking many chances. According to Jadeja, Sudharsan’s game is aesthetically beautiful. In contrast to Sudharsan, who appeared to have no trouble facing Axar Patel and company, he believed that Shubman was having trouble timing the ball against Delhi and had to use his explosiveness to score runs.
“Sai Sudharsan has surpassed the aspiring captain of India.” His batting is aesthetically attractive. In the game against the Delhi Capitals, he wasn’t only ahead of Shubman. He has also appeared to be a more effective batter than Gill in the past games. Compared to Shubman, his batting is risk-free, Jadeja stated on Star Sports.
“A more skilled cricket player who frequently plays for the Indian squad is playing with Sai. Gill struggled to timing the ball against Delhi and need strong blows to get going, while Sai was comfortable,” Jadeja said.
