Captain Ajinkya Rahane of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) acknowledged that, particularly in fiercely competitive leagues like the Indian Premier League, it is crucial to put the past behind you and move on, even though it is simple to point out a team’s mistakes or obsess over “what is.” His comments are made prior to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs. the reigning champions, which is scheduled for May 17 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
IPL 2025 saw KKR have a mixed season; they are only mathematically in the running for the playoffs because even two victories in their final two games might not be enough.
Ajinkya Rahane spoke highly of his team’s accomplishments in the past and emphasised the necessity for them to have confidence and play to the best of their abilities.
It is extremely easy to determine what would have happened if the match had gone as planned, or if the close game had gone our way. If we had won this game, this would have occurred. Everything that has happened in the past is significant to us; we must learn from our mistakes. “As a team, we can do some things really well,” Rahane remarked at the Star Sports Press Room.

The top-order batter stated that the team would approach each season as a fresh start, with the goal of clinching the trophy. He also emphasised upon the importance of keeping things simple and staying focused on delivering their best.
“Just be confident about that and make sure that we make very less errors and as a team we play really well, playing with vast strength and potential. And it’s important that we start every season from the scratch and I always believe in that but it’s always about keeping it simple. Try and do your best on that in that particular season and try and win the trophy,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, RCB are second in the IPL 2025 points table with 16 points and a win will ensure their playoff spot. Meanwhile, KKR are sixth in the points table and have to win the remaining two fixtures at a better run rate to increase the chances for a spot in the playoffs.
