Due to a finger injury, Alyssa Healy, an Australian wicketkeeper-batter for the Sydney Sixers, will miss the whole Women’s Big Bash League season.
Alyssa Healy had to have surgery because she was bitten on her right index finger while attempting to separate her two Staffordshire bull terrier puppies.
“This is not the news I was hoping for because I love playing in the WBBL and I love the Sydney Sixers,” Healy stated. “At this point, my main priorities are getting well and playing again when the time is appropriate.
“I’ll keep hanging out with the Sixers players and do all in my power to support the team and the organization during the remainder of the season. As the competition grows stronger, I’ll love being able to watch the WBBL from a distance,” she continued.
After three games, the Sixers have lost and are presently ranked eighth in the standings.
