A former cricket player for India, Ambati Rayudu, revealed that he will be joining MI Emirates for the ILT20 season. He gave this as his main reason for quitting the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). Remarkably, on January 6, he abruptly quit the political party, barely eight days after joining.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy started a 45-day sports festival after joining the YSRCP. Nonetheless, the 38-year-old cricket player withdrew from the party, originally citing a sabbatical from politics and an impending announcement of his future plans as the basis for his decision. He gave the rationale for his departure on Sunday, January 7, stating that he wanted to continue playing professional sports in a politics-free fashion.
“I, Ambati Rayudu, will be representing the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILt20 from January 20th in Dubai,” the former Chennai Super Kings hitter said on X on Sunday. which means that in order to play professional sports, I must have no political affiliation.”
I Ambati Rayudu will be representing the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILt20 from jan 20th in Dubai. Which requires me to be politically non affiliated whilst playing professional sport.

“I would like to notify everyone that I have chosen to leave the YSRCP Party and take a temporary hiatus from politics. In due course, more information will be sent. After leaving the YSRCP, Rayudu wrote, “Thank You.”
This is to inform everyone that I have decided to quit the YSRCP Party and stay out of politics for a little while. Further action will be conveyed in due course of time.
Thank You.

After seven years, Ambati Rayudu returns to the MI banner.
Especially in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Ambati Rayudu has had an illustrious cricket career. The five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) were the team with which the cricketer from Andhra Pradesh began his IPL career in 2010. Over the course of his seven-year tenure, he won trophies in 2013, 2015, and 2017. As he starts his ILT20 competition, he is now back under the MI banner after a seven-year absence.
Rayudu joined the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after playing for MI in the Indian Premier League. In 2018, he continued to have success in the rich league as he won the IPL title in his first season with the Chennai-based team. Interestingly, when CSK won the title in 2023, he declared his retirement from the IPL.
