Andy Flower, a former Zimbabwe captain and England head coach, has joined the Australian cricket team as a consultant ahead of the World Test Championship Final against India.
He is also likely to play the same role in the second half of the Ashes, which begins shortly after the WTC championship.
Andy Flower, age 55, has extensive coaching experience in England, having served as the head coach of the national men’s team from 2009 to 2014. Previously, he served as the team’s team director, and under his leadership, England won three Ashes series.
Flower has been successful as a coach in various T20 leagues around the globe since leaving his position with England. His most recent position was head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023, when they qualified for the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
