The team management benched Anrich Nortje and Lalit Yadav from the playing XI to make room for Kuldeep and Mukesh. With six wickets at an economy of 13.43 and an average of 35.83 from his four matches, Nortje hasn’t had a particularly successful season thus far. In his one game this season, Lalit Yadav scored three runs and gave up fifteen in an over. To strengthen their batting even more, DC also added West Indies wicketkeeper batsman Shai Hope.
At BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will square off in Match 26 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). After winning the toss, LSG captain KL Rahul decided to bat first, taking into consideration the venue’s historical record.
Lucknow, who entered the game on the heels of three straight victories, were forced to make a substitution when they learned that fast bowler Mayank Yadav was ruled out due to lower abdominal pain from the Gujarat Titans game.
Especially this season, Mayank has been the talk of the town because of his amazing ability to bowl over 150 kmph with good control over length and line. The speedster, with six wickets at an average of 9.0 and an economy of 6.0 from three matches, is tied for the team lead in wicket-taking for his side.
Arshad Khan, a 26-year-old left-arm seamer, will start the season’s opening match in Mayank’s place. Arshad has taken five wickets in the six IPL games he has played thus far.
However, following a string of defeats, Delhi Capitals also made a few adjustments to their starting lineup before the game. They started Kuldeep Yadav, their premier wrist spinner, who had been out of the last three games with an injury. Mukesh Kumar, who had also missed his team’s previous two games, was added to DC’s roster.
Lalit Yadav and Anrich Nortje were benched by DC.
