A social media user was scolded by Ravichandran Ashwin for disseminating false information about the recently retired Indian cricketer’s remarks on his YouTube channel regarding the future of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Ashwin had said that Rohit would like to play in the 2027 Cricket World Cup, but Kohli had told him that he might retire from cricket after the Champions Trophy, the user had tweeted.
In his response to the tweet, Ashwin mockingly commended the user’s “creative storytelling” Social internet users have been sharing his humorous response.
The seasoned spinner’s response also reveals that the user of ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter, with the username “@Ro_45stan” has incorrectly quoted his name.
It’s heartening to see that despite AI, people can still make imaginative stories with ease. “Nice script, but before putting me in the lead, perhaps check with me next time,” the Tamil Nadu native offered.
🚨Ravi Ashwin said – As far as I know Rohit is targeting 2027 odi wc while you may see Virat Kohli hanging up his boots soon because he wants to spend more time with his young family that is what Virat discussed to me few months back.(Via his YT channel) pic.twitter.com/BPim5GSbOc

Heartwarming to see humans still excelling at creative storytelling in this AI era. Nice script but maybe check with me next time before casting me in the lead role? https://t.co/Kf2worJI30

After India won the 2024 World Cup, Rohit and Kohli announced their retirement from Twenty20 international cricket. If the Men in Blue defeat New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 final on Sunday, March 9, there is talk that something similar might be in the works. But for now, they are merely conjectures, and only time will be able to dispel them.
When playing the lively Kiwis, well-rounded India begins as the favourite.
After their perfect run to the final, India is without a doubt the side to beat in the Champions Trophy 2025 final. A few days ago, in their last group-stage match, New Zealand lost narrowly to India. The Kiwis received a much-needed boost from their 50-run triumph over South Africa in the second semi-final. It is expected that the forthcoming match would be a fierce contest between two teams eager to win the coveted championship.
