Former explosive opener Virender Sehwag feels confident in India’s chances at the upcoming ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025, which will be captained by Suryakumar Yadav. Suryakumar was appointed captain of India’s 15-man squad for the forthcoming showpiece tournament, with Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, and Jasprit Bumrah.
Sehwag stated that the Indian squad heading to the UAE for the forthcoming continental event is balanced between experienced campaigners and new players who can build a lethal combination to defeat any opposition in the world. The former Delhi batsman believes that Suryakumar Yadav’s offensive and brave captaincy will help them dominate the event, which will be contested in a 20-over style this time around.
“This Indian team has the right mix of youth and experience, and under Surya’s fearless leadership, they can dominate Asia once again. His attacking mindset suits the T20 format perfectly, and if the team plays with the same intent, I have no doubt India can lift the trophy,” Sehwag said on Sony Sports Network.
For the unversed, the Men in Blue are part of the Group A for the upcoming competition, where they will fight against teams like Pakistan, Oman, and the UAE.
