On the third Test’s fourth day at the storied Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia defeated Pakistan. In their second inning, the Australians bowled out Pakistan for 115 runs, securing an eight-wicket victory while chasing a modest goal of 130.
After a magnificent 119-run stand for the second wicket, David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne were the players of the day. Before succumbing to Sajid Khan in his last test innings, Warner showed off his skill by amassing 57 runs. However, Labuschagne, who was unblemished at 62, led Australia to a victorious conclusion.
When Warner took the field for the final time, the energy at the Sydney Cricket Ground was palpable. An emotional day began with a standing ovation from the 20,000-strong crowd. Before passing through a guard of honor provided by the Pakistani side, Warner gave a sincere hug to his opening partner and close buddy, Usman Khawaja.
Following Australia’s triumph in the third Test, fans went wild, expressing their feelings to fans all over the world. After Warner’s spectacular Test career and his final innings for a dream come true, the cricket community also said goodbye to him.
Twitter responded as follows to Australia’s victory in Warner’s final Test:
