‘He suggested me to get some rituals done’- Axar Patel recalls when MS Dhoni turned his astrologer

Axar Patel, an all-rounder for the Delhi Capitals (DC) and India, remembered a time when the renowned MS Dhoni served as his astrologer. With significant runs and wickets to his credit, Axar has been enjoying his professional career. He was named captain of the Delhi Capitals for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), and after two games, his team is playing undefeated.

Axar Patel recently talked about his friendship with MS Dhoni,

Saying that while he was a member of the Indian cricket team, he would talk to the former captain about his opinions. He also recalled an incident in which the batsman-wicketkeeper made a joke about his planets not being in line and offered solutions.

“He tells me that my planets are moving about here and there in his picture. Either a good ball comes your way or something else occurs. In order to fix it, he advised me to do certain rituals. My friendship with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) is quite close. In a video posted by the Delhi Capitals on Instagram, Axar stated, “I used to share my thoughts with him when he was the captain of the Indian cricket team.”

Axar, who will face Dhoni in the Delhi Capitals’ next match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday, April 5, went on to discuss the 43-year-old’s contribution to his cricketing career.

However, I received his mail following the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup. Additionally, I spoke with him prior to that, specifically during the 2021 World Cup, when he arrived as a mentor. I would talk to him about my attitude, and the consequences are now visible. Therefore, Mahi bhai deserves credit for the noticeable changes in addition to anything I accomplished after that,” he continued.

On Saturday, the tantalising match between CSK and DC will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. While DC has gotten off to a quick start, CSK has lost two of their first three games. When they play a strong Delhi team at home, Ruturaj Gaikwad and company will want to avoid suffering a hat-trick of losses.
