At Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, the 29th IPL 2025 match between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) is presently in progress. DC chose to field first after winning the toss. From the beginning, the MI hitters attacked the DC bowlers with a strong sense of purpose.
Mitchell Starc bowled the 18th over, with Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir at the crease. Dhir struck a length ball in the direction of long-off on the fourth delivery of the over. DC captain Axar Patel, who was positioned close to the boundary, collected the ball in midair with a wonderfully timed jump.
But in order to avoid giving up a six, Axar Patel had to let go of the ball in midair as his momentum carried him over the ropes.
Although the effort was admirable, the catch was unsuccessful. If it had been taken, this would have been one of the season’s top catches, even though there were many easier opportunities missed during the tournament.

Athleticism at its best from Axar Patel to almost grab an absolute blinder

Tilak Varma is in outstanding form right now, attacking the DC bowlers with forceful strokes while sustaining a high run rate for MI and scoring a well-constructed half-century. While Suryakumar Yadav hammered 40 off 28 deliveries and Ryan Rickelton hit 41 off 25 balls, Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets at an economy rate of 5.75 and Vipraj Nigam also claimed two wickets for DC.
With just one victory from five games, MI is currently ninth in the standings and is keen to get back to winning ways. However, DC is desperate to maintain their momentum and sits comfortably at the top with four straight victories.
