[WATCH] IPL 2025: Axar Patel strikes twice to rattle KKR’s top-order

On April 29, the Delhi Capitals (DC) will host the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the reigning champions, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After winning the toss, DC captain Axar Patel decided to field first.

The DC captain arrived to bowl in the eighth over of the game after the KKR openers had given them a respectable start in the powerplay. The left-arm spinner hit KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane with a slider on the leg in the second ball of the game. The delivery trapped the ball after it had beaten the right-handed hitter. When the ball struck the pads, it was ruled LBW. The left-arm bowler got the KKR top-order batsman out for 26 runs after the batsman walked before the umpire made the call.

Axar Patel bowled a full and outside off delivery to Venkatesh Iyer in the second over of his spell.

Vipraj Nigam caught the left-hander after he misplayed the ball, giving him the upper hand. Axar Patel claimed his second wicket of the game, while the left-handed batsman departed for seven runs.
