Ayush Mhatre captain, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, included in India U19 team for England tour

India’s U19 team has been selected by the Junior Cricket Committee for the June 24–23, 2025, trip of England. The tour includes a 50-over warm-up, two Multi-Day matches versus England U19, and a five-match Youth One-Day series.

Mumbai batter Ayush Mhatre has been selected by the committee to captain the formidable 16-man team.

Mhatre will be opening for the multi-format tour, which starts on June 24 at the Loughbrough University Ground, with 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar, who made an impression in the IPL 2025 for the Rajasthan Royals.

Additionally, Mhatre’s Mumbai colleague Abhigyan Kundu has been selected as the deputy for the UK tour. In the team, he serves as a reliable wicketkeeping option, while Harvansh Singh is the backup. Young players like Anmoljeet Singh and Mohammed Enaan have also been added to the England-bound list.

In the meantime, five standby backup players have been selected for the month-long tour. Participants include Alankrith Rapole, Vedant Trivedi, Vikalp Tiwari, D Deepesh, and Naman Pushpak. Rapole has been selected as the stand-in wicketkeeper in the event that the starting lineup is injured.
