During a PSL 2025 net session, Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan were observed rolling their arms over. The star pair bowled idly in the nets at the Islamabad Club prior to the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans. The stills from their practice session were shared on social media by the PSL’s official account.
Peshawar and Multan have not fared well in the PSL 2025 thus far. Having lost both of their games, they are currently in the bottom two spots in the standings. Specifically, Peshawar has had two significant losses, resulting in a negative net run rate of -4.550.

For Zalmi to get back to it, a significant victory is required. Babar needs to step up for that to happen since he hasn’t been able to lead Pakistan in international cricket or Peshawar in the PSL in a long time. Multan has played a little better than Peshawar, therefore they might start as the favourites.
PSL 2025 performances by Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan
Babar has been his team’s poorest hitter thus far this season. The top hitter has a strike rate of 20.00 and an average of 0.50, scoring just one run in two innings. It’s up to him to play a knock that decides the game. The Sultans’ current season has seen Rizwan have a stronger campaign, though.
For Multan, the star batter has scored the most runs in their opening two games. The Sultans opener has amassed 143 runs at a remarkable average of 143.00 over two innings, with a strike rate of 158.88 and a top score of 105*.
Despite Rizwan leading his side from the front, they have failed to win. Due to their matchup with a weaker squad, Sultans have the highest chance of opening their account. At 8:30 PM (IST) on April 19, their game will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
