Bangladesh has named an unchanged roster for the next three-match T20I series against Pakistan, following a 2-1 victory over Sri Lanka. Pakistan has already landed in Dhaka, where all three matches will be held at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium on July 20, 22, and 24. All games will be played under floodlights.
The Bangladesh squad arrived in Dhaka on Thursday, coming off an impressive eight-wicket victory against Sri Lanka in Colombo, which helped them overcome a 1-0 deficit and win the series.
Litton Das became the first Bangladesh captain to win two overseas T20I series, after leading the team to a 3-0 victory in the West Indies last December.
The hosts’ batting lineup is now in excellent form, with Tanzid Hasan, Litton, Towhid Hridoy, and Shamim Hossain all contributing significantly against Sri Lanka. Off-spinner Mahedi Hasan led the bowling assault in the third T20I, collecting four wickets for 11 runs. Rishad Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman both performed admirably, finishing the series with economy rates under 6.00 per over.
In comparison, the Bangla Tigers’ recent T20I record against the Men in Green is less fortunate, with a 3-0 series defeat in Lahore earlier this year. Pakistan has an excellent overall record versus Bangladesh in T20Is, winning 19 of the 22 meetings between the Asian heavyweights.
Bangladesh will also be concerned about pitch conditions in Dhaka, as heavy monsoon rains have hit the city, potentially affecting the playing grounds.
