Since the previous Test cricket matches ended, the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 standings have undergone considerable adjustments. After Bangladesh and the West Indies concluded another Test series with a 1-1 series, Bangladesh closed its WTC run in eighth place, ahead of the Windies.
But a lot of fans have been curious about how the Indian team’s position in the WTC table appears to have changed as a result of the two-test series between Bangladesh and the West Indies. In India, the series had little to no impact, much to the dismay of the fans.
As for the Indian squad, they had managed to hold onto the top slot in the rankings, while the Win dies and Bangladesh had already been eliminated from the WTC final run.
India leads the standings at the moment after 15 games, with nine victories and five defeats.
South Africa, who have won five and lost three of their nine Test matches, is just behind them. Furthermore, with eight victories and four defeats in 13 games, Australia is currently ranked third in the standings.
After losing against New Zealand 0–3 lately, Rohit Sharma and his team fell to the second position in the standings. But following a stunning victory over Australia in the opening Test of the series in Perth, India has taken the lead again.
India must also win the BGT 2024-25 by a score of 4-0 or 5-0 in order to qualify directly for the WTC final. Failure to do so, however, will prevent India from automatically qualifying.
India and Australia will face off in the second Test of the series in Adelaide. India will try to win two straight games when they play each other at the Adelaide Oval starting on December 6.
