Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, the assistant coach, were reportedly being investigated and asked about their roles on the team. The former domestic player and India A head coach Sitanshu Kotak was reportedly being “seriously” considered for the position of Team India’s batting coach.
“Yes, Kotak’s name is being seriously considered for the position of batting coach for India, and the process will begin in February. In this context, the BCCI is probably going to issue a formal statement. The majority of our batsmen, especially the seniors, have had a difficult time in the past two series. From a batting perspective, the Indian men’s cricket team’s support staff needs to be strengthened, a BCCI official told the Times of India (TOI).
Sitanshu Kotak is a well-known domestic figure with coaching experience.
Despite not playing for the Indian side throughout his playing days, Sitanshu Kotak has a lot of numbers in domestic cricket. In addition to serving as captain of the Saurashtra side, Kotak has played 130 First-Class matches and 89 List-A games, averaging over 40 in each classification.
Speaking about his coaching background, Kotak began by leading the Saurashtra team before joining the Bangalore-based NCA (National Cricket Academy) as a batting coach. Also, he has always been selected for India. a head coach who led the Indian squad in the series against Ireland in 2023. In 2017, he also served as assistant coach with the Gujarat Lions, who are no longer in existence.
