On Thursday, April 3, during Match 15 of the IPL 2025 at the Eden Gardens, Sunrisers Hyderabad was three down on the first delivery of the third over as Ajinkya Rahane made a spectacular catch to dismiss Ishan Kishan for a low score. The Kolkata Knight Riders then dominated the opposing team.
The captain of KKR athletically held onto an uppish drive to covers by Kishan.
In a genuinely remarkable move, the 36-year-old batsman Rahane, who is right-handed, leaped to his weaker side and grabbed the ball with both hands.

Having already removed the dangerous Travis Head in the opening over, Kishan’s departure gave Vaibhav Arora his second wicket of the evening. That same over was the one in which the right-arm fast could have claimed his third dismissal of the evening. But the Sunrisers avoided losing four of its batters in the first three overs of the run-chase thanks to an unusual error by Andre Russell.
Earlier in the evening, KKR was called in to bat first and scored 200/6. Venkatesh Iyer scored the most runs with an impressive 60 runs off just 29 deliveries. Additionally outstanding was Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored a half-century. Additionally, Rahane’s 38 (27) was a crucial addition.
