During Sunday’s afternoon IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, all-rounder Krunal Pandya displayed his exceptional fielding skills by making a well-timed catch to dismiss Shreyas Iyer.
Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh got off to a brilliant start for PBKS after RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to field first. But with 62 runs on the board, PBKS lost two wickets in the first seven overs after Krunal quickly removed the two openers.
The eighth over of the PBKS innings was delivered by Romario Shepherd, who is making his RCB debut.
PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer struck a maximum off his fourth delivery, which was in the spot. The Mumbai native attempted the huge shot down the ground but was unable to connect with his willow properly.
The ball soared beyond the bowler’s head, and Krunal made a spectacular running grab after scurrying well to his left. To keep the ball from escaping his grasp, he rolled onto the floor without letting his elbows touch the floor. Krunal’s outstanding fielding performance gave RCB a significant breakthrough, limiting Shreyas to six runs off ten deliveries.
