Star all-rounder Andre Russell has been endorsed by bowling coach Bharat Arun of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the forthcoming game against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Guwahati. Before the forthcoming games, the supporters will also be hoping that the Jamaican swashbuckling veteran regains some of his former glory.
In his 11 years as a member of the KKR team, Andre Russell has been one of the team’s most dependable players. He had a respectable campaign the previous season as well, taking wickets with the ball and scoring some important runs. The captain did not trust the 36-year-old West Indian with the ball, and he was dismissed cheaply in the first game, so he was unable to make an impression. The two-time IPL champion’s inability to deliver in the last game would also be a burden on his mind, but this hasn’t stopped KKR bowling coach Bharat Arun from believing in him, stating that sport is about failing.
“Sport is about failing. It’s more common to fail than to succeed. In my opinion, Russell and other champions are motivated to show themselves in every game, and his failure in the previous one must be weighing heavily on his mind. We also hope that he would perform well in the game tomorrow,” Arun stated, as reported by India Today.
