Recently, Durbar Rajshahi, a well-known team in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), apologised for their cricket players’ late payments and said they will pay half of the outstanding balance by January 16.
It is important to remember that the decision was taken after the local players of the club protested about the unpaid dues, which caused the Rajshahi players to cancel their training sessions. It’s noteworthy that the team has been unable to meet its obligations to the local players despite the fact that the coaching staff and foreign players have already received 25% of their entire compensation.
Faruque Ahmed, president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), addressed the board of directors and also met with Durbar Rajshahi officials.
“The team management has promised all cricketers that they will be paid by January 16; this has nothing to do with their lack of practice. We did not have the entire team in Chattogram when we arrived since some cricket players had gone to Dhaka to relax. “Some of them arrived last night, while others arrived today,” said Jayed Ahmed, the franchise’s operation in-charge.
There are still one or two cricket players to come. The team management granted the cricket players the rest they requested. “There is no doubt that they will receive the payment by January 16,” he continued.
Talks are underway: Manjur Alam, BCB director
In addition, BCB director Manjur Alam came out to advise the media on the situation, telling them about the meeting between the BCB president and representatives from Rajshahi. under addition, as the talks are under progress, he hoped that both sides would reach an agreement by tomorrow.
“I am speaking on behalf of the president of the BCB. An emergency Zoom board meeting was convened by the board president. The other directors were online, but I was there in person. The process of negotiations is underway,” Manjur stated.
“Hopefully tomorrow we can find a solution. The captain, players, and owners of the teams were all directly addressed by the president. Everybody is feeling good about us. The most promising aspect of the negotiation, he continued, is that they will go to practise tomorrow.
