On Wednesday, December 11, Team India departed their Adelaide hotel early in the morning to catch a flight to Brisbane. Beginning on Saturday, December 14, the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024–25) will take place at the famous Gabba in the River City.
Fascinatingly, Yashasvi Jaiswal was absent from the bus that took the Indian players to the airport. It seems that Captain Rohit Sharma was annoyed by the Mumbai batter’s tardiness in leaving the team hotel. According to local time, the bus was scheduled to depart for the airport at approximately 8:30 a.m. Their flight to Brisbane was set to depart at 10:05 a.m.
The Indian contingent began boarding the bus at approximately 8:20 a.m. But there was no sign of Yashasvi Jaiswal.
According to Ray Sportz Cricket, Rohit got off the bus after standing by the gate for a few minutes and spoke with the liaison officer and the team manager. The 37-year-old returned to the bus after the brief exchange.
Soon after, at approximately 8:50 am, the car departed for the airport without Yashasvi. About five minutes after the bus had left, the left-handed batter stepped outside the hotel. Together with the team’s security guard, he got into a car and drove off to the airport.

In the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India hopes to regain its advantage.
At the Optus Stadium in Perth, Team India won the opening Test by a commanding 295-run margin, giving them an outstanding start to the BGT 2024–25. But Australia came back hard to win the second Test at the Adelaide Oval last week by 10 wickets, so they were unable to double their lead.
The opening two games of the five-match series have left it in an interesting 1-1 position. Both sides will try to gain the upper hand, thus the third Test will be very important. India will remember their final Test match at the Gabba with fondness. They achieved a historic series victory in January 2021 by defeating the Australians by three wickets.
