On Saturday, April 19, Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) squared off in the 35th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. In the 20 overs they were given, the Delhi Capitals amassed a commanding 203 runs. Prasidh Krishna, a right-arm bowler for Gujarat, was outstanding with the ball during his period, taking four vital wickets in his four overs.
The Gujarat Titans, led by an outstanding innings from Jos Buttler, chased 204 runs for victory.
The English opener took on the bowlers with authority and was in outstanding form. The Australian pace leader Mitchell Starc bowled the 15th over, which was the most exciting part of the run chase.
Buttler made space and smashed the ball through further cover to set up a boundary to start the over. Buttler reached out and cut it beyond backward point for four more after Starc had followed up with a wide yorker. Another wide yorker was attempted on the third ball, but it took a thick edge and sprinted to third man for another four.
Jos Buttler’s handbook on how to play yorkers 🤌
How good was he against Mitchell Starc in that over?

Buttler stayed leg-side to drive it past mid-off for the over’s fourth boundary after Starc missed his length once more on the fourth delivery. Then Starc attempted a short ball, but Buttler’s mishit pull escaped to the boundary ropes after falling just short of a diving Vipraj Nigam at deep square leg, giving it five boundaries in the over and 20 runs off it.
Buttler kept using his might to lead the chase. Sadly, he was unable to reach his well-earned century, as he finished undefeated at 97 off 54 balls with four sixes and eleven fours. Rahul Tewatia gave Gujarat Titans a commanding seven-wicket victory by smashing a six and a four in the last over when ten runs were needed. The Delhi Capitals dropped to second place in the IPL 2025 points standings as a result of GT’s victory.
