Rajat Patidar, an Indian cricket player, was recently involved in an odd occurrence concerning his former mobile number. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain was compelled to seek police intervention after what started off as a regular communication issue swiftly turned into an intriguing tale.
The telecom company deactivated Rajat former mobile number and then reassigned it to a new customer after it had been idle for more than ninety days, according to an NDTV report. Manish, a young man from Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband area, bought the number and activated it in late June using a Reliance Jio SIM card.
Manish and his friend Khemraj discovered shortly after the number was activated that Rajat photo was still showing up as the WhatsApp profile image linked to it.
Soon, Patidar started getting calls from well-known cricket players like AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli who were all trying to get through.
When Rajat himself called Manish and asked him to return his previous number, the issue became more serious. When Patidar identified himself, the young men laughed and said, “And we’re MS Dhoni,” not accepting that Patidar was the caller.
When Rajat said, “Okay, I’ll send the cops,” the situation quickly became more heated. Ten minutes later, Manish’s home was visited by local police to resolve the situation. Manish and Khemraj cooperated completely and gave the SIM card back to its rightful owner after realising how severe the situation was.
Because I had the wrong number, I was able to talk to Kohli. “I’ve achieved my life’s ambition,” Khemraj told the TV station.
When Patidar led RCB to their first Indian Premier League (IPL) championship in his first season as captain, he experienced a career high in June of this year. For the first time in eighteen years, RCB won the coveted title in the final after defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) under his direction.
