The Delhi Capitals will play the Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Thursday, May 8, following a rain-affected match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
When questioned about the uncertainty surrounding the future and how it could impact the squad, particularly in light of the potential for rescheduled games, “I think as cricketers and as people part of cricket environment, we’re used to challenges, we’re used to navigating and adapting as we go by,”
Delhi Capitals head coach Hemang Badani stated at the pre-game news conference.
We will still have to make our way through a circumstance like this, which is obviously quite unfamiliar to a cricket context. We are quite confident that the BCCI and the IPL governing council will lead us and provide us with the appropriate instructions. We simply adjust and go on as a team.
“Obviously, as a citizen of the country, my support will be with the Indian Army,” Hemang Badani stated in support of the Indian Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor. I really hope they are safe and sound, and I cherish and appreciate whatever they are doing for us.”
Badani said, “It’s been a high-scoring venue and I expect another high-scoring game,” in reference to the Dharamshala surface conditions. I anticipate many runs. Additionally, we have seen that the seam bowlers receive some support in the first few overs. And there are plenty of runs to be scored after you finish those few overs at the top.
“The IPL is a place where you are going to find exciting new talent,” Badani said in reference to the league’s role as a platform for up-and-coming talent. Players that participated in the IPL have gone on to become national team superstars. And as of right now, I see no change. There are a lot of talented young men who have emerged, and I have a feeling that the number of players entering the IPL will only increase.
The Delhi Capitals are now sixth in the standings after 13 points from 11 games thus far. With 15 points, Punjab Kings, their next opponents, are in third place.
The head coach responded, “I obviously won’t give you anything regarding who’s coming back, who’s not coming back,” when questioned about the makeup of the team for tomorrow. I will refrain from offering you any plan regarding the makeup of our squad.
