Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui dismissed the legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday, March 6, at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Mumbai, reminding fans of his infamous dismissal from the ODI World Cup 2003 final against Glenn McGrath. Tendulkar opened the innings for the Masters XI at the Indian Street Premier League 2024 curtain-raiser, bringing back memories of his playing days with some incredible shots all around the field.
Tendulkar reached 30 off just 16 balls because of his wonderful smashes. Unfortunately, stand-up comedian and Big Boss champion Munawar Faruqui abruptly ended his innings. Tendulkar attempted to play on the left side, but the right-arm seamer bowled a fullish delivery off the stump.
But Naman Ojha completed a straightforward catch to end his innings, as he ultimately top-edged it. Consequently, Munawar was ecstatic to have secured the coveted scalp, and Tendulkar was removed for 30 (17).

Notably, Tendulkar was removed from the 2003 World Cup final in a similar fashion to Australian seamer Glenn McGrath. The Australian bowler sent the right-hander off the field after he attempted to pull a good-length delivery and top-edged it, scoring only four runs (6) in the first over.
Amir Hussain and Sachin Tendulkar made an opening duo.
Amir Hussain Lone, a para-cricketer whom Tendulkar had recently met when visiting Jammu and Kashmir, and he had begun the innings together earlier. Despite having special abilities, Hussain’s love for the game and ability to play cricket nonetheless moved the great cricketer.
Hussain rotated the strike brilliantly as he fulfilled his ambition of batting next to his hero. Meanwhile, a number of well-known people, including Suresh Raina, Stuart Binny, Yusuf Patha, Ifran Pathan, and Praveen Kumar, were among the players in the Indian Street Premier League’s inaugural match.
