The Gujarat Titans (GT) were expected to want to add firepower in both batting and bowling after they kept their top-order batsmen, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, on the Deadline Day on October 31. Rashid Khan was also retained at an astounding INR 18 crore.
In their first edition (2022), the champions of the title did just that at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Jos Buttler was released by the Rajasthan Royals, and the Titans quickly acquired him for INR 15.75 crore. In order to provide the setup adequate cushioning, Anuj Rawat and the youthful Kumar Kushagra were also included.
In addition to Rashid and Rahul Tewatia, who were already part of the team, Washington Sundar was brought in as a reliable all-round player. The uncapped Nishant Sindhu, who just moments ago amassed an incredible tonne in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, was also brought in. Mahipal Lomror, who has played for RR and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, was also signed by the team.
With the biggest names, GT strengthened their pace-bowling squad. International talents Gerald Coetzee, Kagiso Rabada, and Mohammed Siraj were acquired for the event. Additionally taken out was Manav Suthar, a 22-year-old left-arm off-spinner who has recently excelled in the domestic scene.
Prasidh Krishna will try to keep up the momentum after missing the 2023 Indian Premier League because of a stress fracture and having his greatest IPL season in 2024. Not being selected in the normal round, Glenn Phillips was one of the night’s steals. He was acquired in the expedited round for a pitiful INR 2 crore.
