South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch got in controversy with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after resigning from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and opting to play for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2025. The 30-year-old’s abrupt departure from the competition resulted in the PCB issuing him a legal notice.
Corbin Bosch, one of the Proteas’ promising pace bowling all-rounders, has been appointed as Lizaad Williams’ replacement in the Mumbai Indians squad for the IPL 2025. However, the PCB sought answers from Bosch, who was also scheduled to play for the Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL. The all-rounder has finally explained to the PCB why he is leaving from the league in a Cricket Pakistan report, stating that he wants to prioritize his future and play for a more successful team like the Mumbai Indians.
“Bosch explained to Pakistani officials that his choice was not intended to insult PSL. He stated that he needed to prioritize his future, as the Mumbai Indians are not just a formidable IPL team but also have franchises in many other competitions, which may greatly enhance his career,” according to the source.
Is Corbin Bosch going to be banned from the PSL?
According to the source, officials are also contemplating Bosch’s future following this decision. Some officials are considering banning him from the PSL for the next few seasons, but others are against the idea because it could influence the participation of other players.
“Some feel that the league’s legitimacy is crucial, and that Bosch should be barred from future PSL seasons as a deterrence to others. Others argue that enforcing a ban may send a negative message to other players. Instead, they propose a symbolic penalty to fix the situation. “The PCB is expected to make a decision in the coming days,” the report stated.
