Regarding bowler Kagiso Rabada‘s recent drug-related case while competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has released a statement. The pacer stated personal reasons for his return from the competition.
He did, however, talk candidly about his suspension for failing the dope test a few weeks later. CSA came up to tell the fans about their regulations and how they oppose the use of banned substances in both professional and amateur cricket after he shared his side of the story.
Kagiso Rabada promised the fans that this would not occur again, according to the Board.
For his acts, the footballer has been suspended, though. However, the precise duration of his ban is still unknown.
According to Cricket South Africa (CSA), Kagiso Rabada, a right arm fast bowler for the Proteas Men, has returned an unfavourable analytical finding for using a prohibited drug. “Although the incident is unfortunate, Rabada has reassured CSA and his supporters of his dedication to maintaining professional standards and has purposefully reaffirmed his passion for cricket and the nation he represents,” CSA said in a statement.
“Both professional and amateur cricket players are reminded of the significance of following all rules by CSA, which is totally dedicated to drug-free sport. We are unwavering in our commitment to helping all participants in this area,” CSA continued.
As per some reports, Rabada will be back in the national squad for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) finals in June. He is a crucial bowler and will serve a certain period of suspension to get back into the team.
“Rabada has not played a match since the end of March, while the exact length of his sanction has not been confirmed. However, it’s understood that Rabada’s ‘ban’ is expected to be within the range of a single month, and some of this looks to have been effectively served already. It means Rabada should soon be back in action, and there is no threat that it could impact his participation in the World Test Championship final against Australia in June,” read the report.
