At the Lord Rama temple in Ayodhya, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) players were seen receiving blessings prior to their match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Every player was there at the temple, including Shreyas Gopal and numerous more. The players visited the temples of Hanuman Garhi and Ramlala before arriving in Lucknow.
On April 14, in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Match No. 30, the MS Dhoni-led team will play LSG.
Currently sitting at the bottom of the points standings with just one victory in five games, CSK isn’t playing well.
CSK has lost four straight games this season, including three at Chennai’s M.A. Chidambaram Stadium for the first time in the league’s existence.
Due to an elbow fracture, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was unable to participate in the tournament; MS Dhoni took over as captain. That didn’t stop CSK from losing to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), though. Due to the hitters’ total exposure to the powerplay, it wasn’t a good day. They only managed to score 103-9 in the first inning.

Chennai’s batting has been weaker than ever without Gaikwad, particularly with the middle-order struggling to make an impact. As demonstrated by their slow batting strategy in the last game against KKR, where they also recorded their lowest-ever team total at Chepauk, the batsmen lack the motivation to keep the scoreboard moving. For the five-time champs, a change of strategy is urgently needed at the moment.
Even though CSK has been a top team for many years, they haven’t been able to win in the last few seasons since Gaikwad took over as captain. But now that Dhoni is leading again, CSK supporters can only hope for a spectacular return.
