The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala will host Match 27 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 between Australia and New Zealand on Saturday, October 28. Australia scored a huge 388 all out in 49.2 overs after being set to bat first. In an attempt to rescue himself in the 38th over of their innings, Marnus Labuschagne blocked the field.
The Australian batsman sliced Trent Boult towards point on the second ball of the over as he went for a single. But there had been some miscommunication between him and Glenn Maxwell, who was reconsidering his running plans.
Because of wicketkeeper Tom Latham’s shy at the stumps, Marnus Labuschagne found himself in danger at the non-striker’s end.
The Australian batter made a diving catch to save himself after the toss went off target. Replays, however, revealed that Marnus Labuschagne had altered his running pattern, which might have resulted in an out due to obstruction of the field; nonetheless, New Zealand chose not to challenge the dismissal, allowing Labuschagne to finish his innings.
