Once predicted to be the next big thing in Indian cricket, Prithvi Shaw has experienced a decline from the top. The young player has had a rough time, moving from being compared to Sachin Tendulkar after making his breakthrough at a young age to being unsold at the Indian Premier League’s 2025 mega auction.
Shaw did not draw any bids during the recently finished tournament in Jeddah, according to Parth Jindal, co-owner of the Delhi Capitals.
“Prithvi is an excellent child. He is misinterpreted in a lot of ways. As we grow up, I believe we all need a wake-up call and to be shaken out of our sleep. I have even needed that shock at times. You’ve been told your entire life that you are unique, the most gifted, and the only hitter in the world with an MRF bat besides Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. That gives you a good idea of how people felt about him,” Jindal said in an interview with Sports Today.
Prithvi Shaw needs to resume his passion for cricket: Prithvi Shaw, according to Parth Jindal,
needed to start over in order to determine his future course and achieve the success levels he had so assured everyone when he was a small child.
People are referring to you as Lara, Sachin, or the next big thing, respectively. You are surrounded by people who talk highly of you, including Mumbai cricket players. I believe Prithvi needs this one shock. He had a large IPL deal up to this point, was playing all formats for Mumbai, and at least started for DC. He should work hard, in my opinion. He needs to rediscover his passion for cricket. He has to return to the nets and get fit. In order to get disciplined, he must return and realize his mistakes,” he continued.
Jindal wishes Shaw would quickly revert to his former, successful self. “Everybody can see the talent. I adore the boy, and I hope he returns to his roots and becomes the Prithvi Shaw that we all know he is capable of being.”
