Support staff and players for the Delhi Capitals (DC) wished KL Rahul a happy fatherhood. Following the game between the DC and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the Capitals’ official social media account shared a video of their players and support personnel congratulating their star player in a charming gesture. Among those who wished Rahul well were Axar Patel, Faf du Plessis, Mitchell Starc, and Kevin Pietersen.
Delhi’s support team urged everyone to congratulate KL on becoming a father and reminded them of his wonderful news in the widely shared video. The coach encouraged everyone to think of a way to send Rahul well wishes. Axar, Abhishek Porel, and other members of the DC family sang a song to greet Rahul’s baby.

Rahul and DC had two positive things to report from the evening: they won an exciting match to begin their IPL 2025 season and welcomed a new family member. In a touching post, KL and his wife, Athiya Shetty, confirmed the birth of their child together on Instagram.

After starting their IPL 2025 campaign with an exciting one-wicket victory over LSG, the squad members had two reasons to celebrate. Before congratulating Rahul and Athiya on their birth, DC players and staff celebrated their victory over LSG in the locker room. As DC pulled off the largest run chase in IPL history, chasing down 210 against Lucknow, fans referred to the newborn infant as Rahul’s lucky charm.
