Against the Rajasthan Royals, Quinton de Kock’s brilliant knock helped the Kolkata Knight Riders win their first IPL 2025 match. The Southpaw’s 97*(61) served as a superb anchor for the run chase. Quinton de Kock rushed and played his shots toward the end of the match in an attempt to end it as soon as possible.
RR was unable to reach their target of 151 runs in 20 overs when they batted first. Varun Chakravarthy and Mooen Ali, the spin combo for KKR, outwitted the RR hitters and prevented them from scoring in the end. In the early part of KKR’s innings, runs weren’t coming easy, so 152 seemed a little difficult.

Moeen Ali and Ajinkya Rahane struggled in their stay in the middle. When the KKR skipper returned to the pavilion, KKR needed 82 runs in 51 balls. It seemed like the game opened at that point in the game. However, the South African batter was joined by Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and the duo saw their team home.
Against RR, Quinton de Kock receives Player of the Match.
De Kock attacked the RR bowlers because he was positioned in the middle and understood how it worked. He challenged Wanindu Hasaranga, RR’s top bowler, and undermined the bowling unit’s confidence. His half volleys, which were aimed at the boundary, were aided by it. It was the star batter’s responsibility to chase down the total.
Angkrish played second fiddle and gave him most of the strike. To win, KKR needed 17 runs in the final 18 balls. To get a boundary, the WK batter whacked the ball between the mid on-fielders and the square leg. To get as many runs as possible, he then smashed the ball into the stands.
Finishing off in style, the seasoned batter smacked the ball over the head of the mid-on. As they chased the total in just 17.3 overs, KKR ultimately had a smooth run chase. Quinton was justifiably named Player of the Match after playing a significant part in KKR’s victory.
