AB de Villiers confirmed that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child.

The renowned batsman for South Africa, AB de Villiers, has at last revealed why Virat Kohli missed the first two Test matches against England. All speculation over the great cricket player’s personal life was put to rest when the 39-year-old disclosed that he is expecting his second child with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.

The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) notably announced on January 22 that the former captain of India has withdrawn from the first two Test matches against England for personal reasons. Since then, there have been many unfounded rumors about his mother’s health spreading across the internet. But when his brother Vikas Kohli reassured them that their mother was OK, they were put to rest.

In a live session on his YouTube channel, AB de Villiers 360, the batsman from India finally disclosed the true reason for Kohli’s absence: the player is expecting his second child. A fan had questioned De Villiers about his recent conversations with Kohli and inquired about his wellbeing during the session.

“I can’t provide you with too much detail, but I did text him and I did hear from him. All I know is that he’s okay and missed the first few Test matches in order to spend some time with his family. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to confirm anything further. However, I would adore and am eager for his return, in whatever shape or form. However, he’s happy and in good health, as De Villiers posted on his YouTube account.

Speaking further ahead of schedule, De Villiers wished the couple all the best and revealed the much-anticipated news of Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy.

Please be patient with me while I merely see what he stated. “I’ve been wanting to check with you on one thing for a while now, biscuit. How are you doing?” was what I wrote to him. “How are you? I just need to be with my family right now,” he replied. Yes, he is expecting his second child; it’s a family affair. You can’t hold Virat responsible for that; sure, we mourn him, but he made the correct choice. In the video, De Villiers added, “We wish him all the very best for the amazing blessing of being able to become a father for the second time and all the best to Anushka as well.

Notably, Anushka was spotted sporting a baby bump in a video that went viral during the ODI World Cup 2023. De Villiers’ confirmation has put an end to all pregnancy rumors.
